Sonu ke titu ki sweety: India’s best attempt on romcom? (movie review)
Before I go so deep marching inside the shoddy
part of this movie (Sonu ke titu ki sweety), I really want you guys to know that I loved the movie. I
loved it because basically movie is prepared with immense directed love toward
the genre. Luv Ranjan perfectly pulls the rope when it’s come to this type of
genre. I always heated Luv Ranjan for making this movies so predictable and too
long but even after all the inadequate decisions in the movie and off the
movie, there is something which feels right and seriously I don’t know what
that is.
Anyways about the cons, I personally hate how
director never changed his cast. It just makes us feels like the same movie
repeating after some constant time intervals. I would really love to see some
new actor playing lead characters like Ghasite(played by Alok Nath). This is
first time we have seen a complete different side of this legendary actor and
it blow me by surprise. It shows that changing things might bring an actually appreciable
blast. Luv Ranjan we don’t give a shit if you make movies in same topics or
genre but please do me a favor, change actors rather than just names of characters.
And please just leave Honey Singh for Grammy; we should never come across him
and his immense lust of Grammy. I also hate how dance numbers occurs in the
movie, like the timing of it pisses me off. Apart from the timing of the song
and the SINGER of the songs, I disgust the sound comedy because you have such a
marvelous writing with like actually funny jokes and providing that old school
is not really smart. People do that when they only have fart jokes or like lazy
ass writing.
But other than all of this what I really want
to point out here is that, the movie is just a perfect GAY ROMCOM story. I know
it sounds funny but I’m serious. I mean just add one little thing with the
characters that “both were gay and get married after 5 years”, it will be
perfect movie. I mean what everyone trying getting from this movies is that how
great you friendship might be and you must never ruin it for some unknown girl
(which is basically the plot of every Luv Ranjan’s movie). Seriously guys the
movie was much more. I think what Luv Ranjan didn’t able to show is that the
story doesn’t mean that we must always trust over best friends because we know
we can’t rightJ. But
the fact that we much not commit to someone we don’t know. It’s basically a
non-arrange marriage classic. Always remember, “Marry your best friend” by
Deadpool. Just believe this motto and I promise you will never have yourself in
trouble choosing between your GF/BF over BFF. Plus the best thing about this
all is that you will always know that you guys will find a way to stick to each
other because you know each other a lot.
