David Beckham unveils limited edition capsule collection boots.
The former England captain has
played a part in the German sportswear giant's latest creations and he
personally launched them in a live-streamed game. Adidas have teamed up with
David Beckham to launch a new range of footwear known as the 'CapsuleCollection'. Beckham, who has long been associated with the sporting apparel
giants, was involved in the design process, taking part in concept meetings
during the development of the new collection. Which seems really surprising
because, he never been seen doing so in any social media platform before. Well
you expect at least this much from a person who share his lunch pictures in
their stories, but this.
Anyways, the former England
captain teased the announcement with a Facebook post in which he declared “big
things were coming” and on Monday, October 30, the news was released. Because
he didn’t want to jeopardise his Instagram feed. HAHAHA! Just kidding but who
use facbook? Apparently hottest footballer in the world does. Maybe it’s just
for extra hot peoples you know. Make sense.
A live launch was streamed on
Beckham's official Facebook page showcasing the new footwear in action as the
London 'Tango Squad' faced off in a five-a-side match, which the former
Manchester United and Real Madrid man took part in. Even though the quality of
video was ok and there was only one and I repeat “Only One” Media girl asking
questions about this BIG release. It was clearly not well planned and maybe
taken for granted. I mean if you are going to have a collection of particular
shoes with one of the most respected company in the world and you’re not even
trying to promote it properly? What’s wrong with you? Maybe that was grand “Thug
life compilation” or he is out of his mind(no offenses).
WHAT IS THE DAVID BECKHAM CAPSULE COLLECTION?
The David Beckham Capsule Collection features three new
adidas shoes in three iconic colours (white, black, red) for three specific
arenas (stadium, street, cage). The first of these is the stadium boot, a
'remastered' version of the Predator Accelerator which comes in a triple-white
colour scheme. "When I look back on the best moments of my career, the one
defining theme of them all is the adidas Predator. It has always been there,
helping me play my best when it mattered most," said Beckham. "That’s
why when adidas offered me the chance to design an updated version of the boot
for on-pitch, in the cage and on the street; I absolutely jumped at the chance.”
As well as a football boots designed for wear on grass, the Capsule Collection
features a triple-black street shoe and a triple-red cage shoe (which are those
worn by Beckham and the Tango Team in the promotional video above.).
Interestingly,
each shoe has a different number stitched into the heel - based on the numbers
worn by Beckham during his career. The number 23 features on the stadium boots,
while the street shoes feature the number 32 and the number 7 is present on the
red cage shoes.
HOW MUCH DOES THE CAPSULE COLLECTION COST?
Am I seeing the same price as you guys are seeing? You know
most of the American might never have bought anything this expensive which we
can wear on feet. Maybe half of the world thinks twice before buying the shoes
even half priced than this. Maybe it’s time to leave the planet fella. It’s
insane!
Fuck Fact : Initial retail price for this collection
is even more than kanye west’s collaborated collection (Yeezys, one of the most
recent hyped sneaker series). It beats the hell out of Nike LeBron 11 Elite
which holds current world record of “most expensive sneakers”.
