Australian Cricket Association's 1 year banned on Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft after Tampering scandal is right ?
Regarding
all the controversy in South Africa, I think Australian Cricket Association
control the situation after the controversy perfectly. Atleast they come up
strong to players involved and show some promising sign to secure people’s
trust in Australian Cricket. I know people were shattered when they announced
12 months banned to Steve Smith and David Warner and 9 month banned to young
Cameron Bancroft. Normal ICC punishment on this type of action is just 1 match
banned and 100% match fees, which is not weirder because they have categorized
every cheating into some hypothetical groups. I know people are been dragging
this too much and people will for some more time but the fact is that they did
it and they have to pay to set an example. I remember the time I use to play
sports, the only two things matter when you are out there competing is that,
one you respect your opponent and other is that you don’t cheat. It’s that
simple guys! Anyone with any little experience in the sports can provide you
with this extremely basic information. We are at the point in the time where
sports are been providing with bigger picture than they use to, people around
the world know the meaning of sports because they are in their purest form. And
violating basic necessity of the process must be treated with full
aggressiveness.
Everything
happening in this past some days come as a shock to Steve and David because
they knew that even if they got caught the only price they will be playing is
nothing in compare to their bank balance, isn’t it the reason they even had a
thought of doing so? I mean let’s be honest here and think, let do some math.
If ICC will ban player for 1 match and have to give away the 100% match fees of
the match he got caught for, we will be looking at 2 match fees, which is not
more than 14 lakh Indian Rupees (roughly $21450 usd). This mean that even if you
mess up this plan you will be giving up near to 1% of your annual salary.
Pretty OK for winning games, right! I mean come on if that’s the amount in
which we can literally buy a player who can cheat on field and take the blame
and still go away with good amount of money, plus we won’t need a player to do
so, any man with hands and some guts and balls can do. So basically it all sums
up in a big conclusion, ICC’s so called mulct is smiley chocolate flavor yogurt
(SHIT).
On the
other side people have been asking for reduction of ban on Aussie players. Specially
after tomorrow’s event when Steve Smith break down and sobbed when he faced
media after being sent home and removed as a Australian captain. For an
instinct it felt like it was a rookie mistake but come on who are we fooling
here? Neither Steve Smith nor David Warner is any way near rookie. I think the
punishment is completely valid and in fact I think that the this is the most
positive thing came out of Australian Cricket board in a decade. I mean they
are the real hero’s here. The way they own up to the fact and show ICC that
whatever they think is right is certainly not and especially not now. They said
“shut up ICC! Your rules are dumb, doesn’t make any sense.” I mean they never
said that but deep down inside they knew that they are saying that by showing
extreme separation of punishments to the players.
So the
question here is, 1 year banned on all of these players is a genuine
punishment? And the answer my friend is up to you. But before you make any
conclusion all I can say is that there is only one thing is sport we must not
do and that’s cheating. It’s simple as fuck but yet if you’re thinking else
ways then just remember that you must know that there is no levels of cheating,
because certainly ICC and Steve Smith didn’t knew about it.
